MiniYT is a lightweight client for watching YouTube on devices where the full app or site is heavy or slow. This status page tracks current service health, so if videos stop loading or playback stalls, you can quickly see whether the problem is on our side or yours. Reports are collected from users and matched against live server checks.
MiniYT wraps YouTube playback in a smaller, faster interface. It is meant for older hardware, limited connections, and situations where the main YouTube app is too much. Nothing is hosted by MiniYT itself; videos stream directly from YouTube, and MiniYT handles the browsing layer around them. When something goes wrong, it is usually one of three things: YouTube changing something on their end, the MiniYT servers that fetch video info going down, or a local issue on your device. The first two show up as playback errors or empty thumbnails for many users at once. The third shows up as problems that only affect you. Before reporting an issue, try these steps. Check that YouTube itself works in a browser on the same device. Force close and reopen MiniYT. Clear the app cache if your device allows it. Make sure you are on the latest version of the app, since old builds stop working after YouTube updates. If login fails, sign in through YouTube directly first to confirm your account is healthy.

Questions

Is MiniYT for YouTube down right now?

According to reports on this page, MiniYT for YouTube looks fine for most people. Isolated failures still happen — report yours if you are stuck.

When was the last mass outage?

We do not have a recorded mass outage for MiniYT for YouTube yet.

Why do videos fail to load even though the status page says everything is fine?

The status page reflects our servers, but playback depends on YouTube as well. If MiniYT responds normally and YouTube works in a browser, the problem is likely your connection or an outdated app version. Update the app and try again.

Do I need a YouTube account to use MiniYT?

Browsing and watching work without an account. Signing in only adds features like subscriptions and playlists, and if you do not need them, you can skip the login entirely.
