Root is a digital board game that relies on app stability, account access, and online matchmaking. When any of those pieces stall, games freeze mid-turn or players can't connect to lobbies. This page collects current reports, common causes, and the checks worth trying before you file a ticket.
Root is a mobile and desktop adaptation of the asymmetric board game, with local play, pass-and-play, and online matches. Most problems fall into a few groups: the app freezing during a match, failing to open after an update, or dropping its connection to game servers mid-game. Update-related issues are common right after new versions ship. An outdated app can fail to reach servers that have moved on, so a frozen screen or endless login spinner often means version mismatch. Slow performance tends to show up on older devices or during long online matches with many factions in play. On your side, check that the app and your device OS are current, then restart the app fully before reopening. Confirm your internet connection, and try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data if lobbies won't load. If login fails, verify your credentials on the platform you signed up with before resetting anything.
