About YouTube Kids

YouTube Kids (YT Kids) is a family-friendly video service developed by Google and owned by YouTube LLC. It is classified as a website and mobile application, designed as a child-focused version of YouTube that blocks adult content. Official site: https://www.youtubekids.com/
YouTube Kids is Google's child-friendly video app, and when it stops working the disruption is easy to spot. Videos may refuse to load, the app can freeze mid-playback, or sign-in may fail without a clear reason. This status page collects the service issues families report most, so you can quickly see whether a problem sits with YouTube Kids itself or with a device at home.
YouTube Kids is a video service from YouTube, a Google company, built for children. It filters content so kids can browse and watch videos without exposure to adult material. The app is available on mobile platforms and on the web at youtubekids.com. Problems usually fall into a few groups. The app may freeze or refuse to open, playback may stutter, or the app may struggle to reach the servers. Login trouble also happens, especially after a password change on the linked Google account. Update issues appear when a new app version rolls out and older installs misbehave. Before reporting a fault, try a few basics. Check that your internet connection works and that the app is updated to the latest version. Restarting the device clears many freezes. If videos will not play at all, an outage on the service side is more likely than a problem with your home network.

Questions

Is YouTube Kids down right now?

According to reports on this page, YouTube Kids looks fine for most people. Isolated failures still happen — report yours if you are stuck.

When was the last mass outage?

We do not have a recorded mass outage for YouTube Kids yet.

Why does YouTube Kids keep freezing on my tablet?

Freezing is often caused by an outdated app version or a full device cache. Update the app, restart the device, and make sure enough storage space is free. If the app still freezes across several devices, the issue may be on the service side.

My child cannot sign in to YouTube Kids. What should I check?

Sign-in problems often come from the linked Google account rather than the app itself. Confirm the account password still works elsewhere and that the family profile is set up correctly. A pending app update can also block login until it is installed.
