h3 “I am Mathew. S. Paul, 86 years old male undergoing on Maintenance Hemodialysis in the dialysis unit of Madras Medical Mission Hospital for the past 4 years and 4months under the able, highly experienced and watchful eyes of Dr. Sanjeev Nair – Senior Consultant Nephrologist and Dr.Rajeevalochana – Consultant Nephrologist. The story began in 2019 in the summer season when I became severely dehydrated and was admitted in a hospital and after treatment I was advised to have my heart examined, and so I consulted cardiologist Dr. Vijayakumar. After various tests, he found my heart was perfect. However, he asked me to see the nephrologist because I was very week. Dr. Milli Mathew – Senior Consultant Nephrologist of our department, examined me. After various tests, she found that I have chronic kidney disease and I was under medication. When I went for a review after a few weeks, the doctor told me that I should undergo Haemodialysis as my Creatinine was 8.5, to avoid any emergency situation. Accordingly I started to undergo Haemodialysis in MMM Hospital from 12.03.2020 which happened to be the World Kidney Day 2020. The doctors and paramedical staff take best care of patients with a tender heart, always with a smile and dedication. The doctors visit us 2-3 times a session. I thank to our doctors and well trained staff for handling our hemodialysis patients. Haemodialysis is a process where the blood is filtered to remove toxins and impurities and is a life saving process and there is nothing to fear by the grace of god. ”
