h3 Sister Dolores (RIP) It is with great sadness that I share with you the news of the passing of our beloved Sister Dolores of the Sisters of Mercy. Sr Dolores passed away last Monday evening at St Bart’s Hospital. I extend sincere sympathies to Sr Dolores’ family, Sr Patricia, Sr Collette and all of the Sisters of Mercy, both on my own behalf, and on behalf of all the parish. 10 days before her death Sr Dolores celebrated her 70th
anniversary as a professed religious. It was a wonderful celebration; a Mass of Thanksgiving and a delicious meal afterwards. Sr Dolores received many gifts for her anniversary and I am sure that, if she had not left us so quickly, she would have acknowledged them all and shown her gratitude, that was her nature. Sr Dolores ran our parish folk music group for many years and made many friends here in Highbury. She will be sorely missed. May she rest in peace. FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS: Sister Dolores’ mortal remains will be brought into the church at 6.00pm on Tuesday 22 October. Her Funeral Mass will be the next day, Wednesday 23 October, at 11.00am.
