About arelion
Arelion is a Swedish tier 1 internet service provider founded in 1993. It has operated under the names Telia Carrier, TeliaSonera International Carrier, and Twelve99. The company is majority owned by Polhem Infra, with Telia Company as an owner, and is headquartered in Stockholm.
Arelion is a tier 1 internet service provider, and this status page tracks the health of its network services. Because Arelion operates at the backbone level, most disruptions here affect connectivity for other providers and businesses rather than individual home users. If your connection, e-mail, or television service runs through a provider that depends on Arelion, problems may show up indirectly. Live status and incident reports appear below.
Arelion, formerly known as Telia Carrier and Twelve99, is a Swedish telecommunications company that runs a global tier 1 internet backbone. Its network carries large volumes of traffic between internet providers, content platforms, and enterprises. Founded in 1993 and owned by Polhem Infra, it is one of the transit networks that keeps the internet reachable.
When a backbone provider has trouble, the usual symptoms are routing instability, packet loss on long-haul routes, or a total blackout for customers who depend on a single path. Maintenance windows can also cause brief interruptions. Websites and e-mail services that ride on the network may become slow or unreachable from certain regions.
On your side, it helps to check whether the problem is limited to specific destinations, since that often points to a routing issue rather than your own equipment. Restart your router, confirm your connection to other sites, and look at this page for confirmed incidents before contacting support.
