About Escape from Tarkov

Escape from Tarkov (also shortened to EfT) is a 2017 first-person shooter video game developed by Battlestate Games. It runs on Windows and is available through the official site at escapefromtarkov.com. The game falls under several genre classifications, including online multiplayer first-person shooter titles.
Escape from Tarkov is an online first-person shooter from Battlestate Games, released in 2017 for Windows. Because it runs on shared game servers with a persistent progression system, problems with login, matchmaking, or server connection can interrupt a raid mid-match. This page tracks reported issues across game play, login, server connection, and the official website, so you can see whether a problem is widespread or limited to your own setup.
Escape from Tarkov is a hardcore first-person shooter where raids have real consequences: gear you carry in can be lost if a connection drops. That makes stability issues more painful than in many other games. Matchmaking queues, raid servers, and account login are handled separately, so one can fail while the rest still work. The official website and launcher also matter, since purchases and downloads run through them. Typical problems include long queue times during events, failed logins after patches, disconnects during raids, and launcher errors when updating the game. A crash on your side may look like an outage from the inside. Check that your launcher is fully updated, verify game files if a patch just landed, and confirm your connection is stable before assuming the servers are down. Wired connections tend to hold up better during long raids. If a raid disconnects, wait a few minutes before reconnecting; logging back in too fast can cause further errors while servers resettle.

Questions

Is Escape from Tarkov down right now?

According to reports on this page, Escape from Tarkov looks fine for most people. Isolated failures still happen — report yours if you are stuck.

When was the last mass outage?

The last mass outage ran from Oct 6, 2026 7:25 AM to Oct 6, 2026 7:20 AM (5 minutes).

Why do I lose my gear when a raid disconnects?

Tarkov saves raid results on the server side. If the connection drops mid-raid, the server usually records the outcome as it stood, which can mean lost equipment. Persistent issues with your connection are worth fixing, since the game does not forgive unstable links.

Should I reinstall the game after every patch error?

No. Reinstalling takes a long time and rarely fixes server-side problems. First check whether other players report the same error, then try verifying game files through the launcher and restarting it. A full reinstall is a last resort.
