Gears of War is a 2006 video game developed by Epic Games. This status page tracks reported problems with the game and its related services. When something goes wrong, players often notice it in the same places: online matches, sign-in, or connecting to game servers. Below you will find an overview of the service, common issue patterns, and steps worth trying before you file a report.
Gears of War is the 2006 third-person shooter that started the Gears series. Developed by Epic Games, it is known for its cover-based combat and its multiplayer modes, which depend on online services to host matches and verify accounts. Issues usually fall into a few groups. Game play problems cover crashes, freezes, or stuttering during a session. Login trouble shows up as failed sign-ins or repeated prompts to re-enter your password. Server connection issues appear as failed matchmaking, dropped matches, or errors when connecting mid-game. The website can also go down, which affects store pages and support content. Before reporting a problem, check a few things on your side. Confirm your internet connection is stable, and restart your console or PC. Sign out and back into your account. If matchmaking fails, try again after a few minutes, since temporary server load can look like an outage. Keep your game updated, as older versions sometimes cannot reach current servers.

Questions

Is Gears of War down right now?

According to reports on this page, Gears of War looks fine for most people. Isolated failures still happen — report yours if you are stuck.

When was the last mass outage?

The last mass outage ran from Oct 12, 2026 1:10 AM to Oct 12, 2026 1:05 AM (5 minutes).

Why can I start the game but not sign in?

Sign-in depends on account services that are separate from the game files themselves. If the game launches but login fails, first check your internet connection, then sign out and back into your account. If the problem persists, it may be on the service side, and reports from other players will show it here.

My multiplayer match keeps dropping. What should I check first?

Dropped matches often come from an unstable connection rather than the servers. Test your internet speed, switch to a wired connection if you can, and close background downloads. If the issue happens across several sessions on a stable connection, file a report so the pattern is visible on this page.
