Halo Wars is a 2009 real-time strategy game developed by Ensemble Studios, originally for Xbox 360 and later available on Windows PC as Halo Wars: Definitive Edition. Because its multiplayer and matchmaking run on online services, players occasionally run into connection or login problems. This page tracks the current status of the game's online features and related services.
Halo Wars is a real-time strategy title set in the Halo universe. You command armies rather than a single character, and the game includes both a story campaign and online multiplayer matches. The Definitive Edition bundles the base game with its expansions in an updated release for modern systems. Most reported issues involve game play and server connection, especially matchmaking and online multiplayer sessions. Login problems can also occur when Xbox or platform account services are disrupted. The game's official website may occasionally be slow or unavailable, though that does not affect play. If something seems broken, first check your own internet connection and restart the game. Confirm your platform account is signed in and not facing its own outage. For persistent login errors, verify your game files or reinstall. If everything on your side looks fine, the problem is likely with the game's servers, and this page will reflect that.
