About Inpaint

Inpaint is a software product. Its official site is http://www.theinpaint.com/.
Inpaint is a photo editing tool that removes unwanted objects from images. When it misbehaves, the cause is usually local: an outdated app version, a slow device, or a hiccup reaching the activation servers. This page tracks reported problems and helps you figure out whether the issue is on your end or ours.
Inpaint lets you select an object in a photo and erase it, filling the gap with surrounding pixels. It runs as a desktop app and as a web version, so both a frozen app and a failed browser upload count as service issues. The most common complaints are an app that will not open, slow processing on large images, and errors when connecting to the licensing or update servers. Login problems usually point to an expired license key or a mistyped email rather than a server outage. Start on your side: confirm your app version is current, check that your internet connection is stable, and try a smaller image if processing stalls. If the web version also fails, the problem is more likely server-side. Restarting the app clears most frozen-session cases.

Questions

Is Inpaint down right now?

According to reports on this page, Inpaint looks fine for most people. Isolated failures still happen — report yours if you are stuck.

When was the last mass outage?

We do not have a recorded mass outage for Inpaint yet.

Why does Inpaint freeze when I process a large photo?

Large images need more memory and processing time. Try a smaller copy of the photo, close other apps, and make sure you are running the latest version of Inpaint before reporting it as a fault.

Inpaint will not accept my license key. What should I check?

Make sure the key matches the email you used at purchase and that you are connected to the internet, since activation needs to reach our servers. If it still fails, the activation service may be temporarily affected.
