About Disqus

Disqus is a centralized discussion platform and website comment hosting service, founded on October 30, 2007 and headquartered in San Francisco, United States. It is owned by Zeta Global and available at https://disqus.com.

Disqus is a comment hosting service used by many websites around the world. When it has trouble, readers may see missing comment threads, failed logins, or delayed moderation tools. This status page tracks reported problems with Disqus so you can tell whether an issue sits with the service or with your own site. Reports come from users, so treat them as a live signal, not a guarantee.

Disqus provides a hosted comment platform that sites embed through a script, an API, and webhooks. Most issues involve the embedded comment widget failing to load, single sign-on returning errors, or sync delays between the service and the host site. Moderation panels and email notifications can also lag during busy periods.

Is Disqus down right now?

According to reports on this page, Disqus looks fine for most people. Isolated failures still happen — report yours if you are stuck.

When was the last mass outage?

We do not have a recorded mass outage for Disqus yet.

Why do comments disappear from my site?

Common causes are a blocked or missing embed script, a mismatched shortname, or a cached page showing an older version. Disable blockers for the site, verify the embed code, and clear your cache before reloading.

What can I do when login through Disqus fails?

Try an incognito window or another browser first to rule out cookie problems. If the error persists across pages and sites, check this page for reports and retry later.
