About Imgur

Imgur is an American online image sharing and image hosting service. It was founded in 2009 by Alan Schaaf and is headquartered in San Francisco, United States. Its official sites are imgur.com and imgurinc.com. The service operates as a business and a website.
Imgur is an online image sharing and hosting service, founded in 2009 and based in the United States. If images fail to load, uploads stall, or the site will not open, this page tracks current Imgur status and recent incident reports. Check back here before assuming a problem is on your end.
Imgur lets people upload, host, and share images across the web. Many forums, comment sections, and chat apps link directly to images stored on Imgur, so an outage there can break images on sites that seem unrelated. Problems usually show up in a few familiar ways: images that won't load, failed uploads, slow thumbnails, trouble signing in, or DNS errors when visiting the site. Some issues only affect direct image links while the main website stays up. On your side, first confirm your own internet connection works. Try loading the page in a private window or another browser. Clear cached images if old pictures stay broken after service returns, and check whether a browser extension or network filter is blocking imgur.com.

Questions

Is Imgur down right now?

According to reports on this page, Imgur looks fine for most people. Isolated failures still happen — report yours if you are stuck.

When was the last mass outage?

We do not have a recorded mass outage for Imgur yet.

Why do images break on other websites when Imgur has problems?

Many sites host their pictures on Imgur and link to them directly. If Imgur is slow or unreachable, those images fail to load even though the site you are visiting is otherwise working fine.

My images still look broken after an outage ends. What should I do?

Your browser may have cached a failed load. Refresh the page, clear your browser's cached images and files, or open the link in a private window to force a fresh attempt.
